Complete Dentures

The idea of having to wear a complete set of dentures should not be daunting. We will guide you through the steps in building your dentures to ensure you will have a confident, natural smile. You will be involved with the decision-making process of the size, shape, and colour of teeth. The denture-making process can take anywhere from three to four weeks, depending on the individual case. All denture work is customized and fabricated onsite in our lab.

Initially, impressions of your upper and lower jaw are taken. We build a duplicate of your mouth in the form of a model to build your dentures on. On your second visit, custom templates are fitted into your mouth and customized using the shape of your face and mouth to determine a guide to set up dentures. We determine the measurements of your jaws and record how your jaws align. During this appointment, we will discuss your wishes for the aesthetics of the denture and choose a size, colour, and shape of teeth. The third visit is a try-in of the dentures to ensure that the alignment is correct and to give you a preview of what the dentures will look like in their final state. If you are satisfied with the aesthetics, the fit is verified and then the dentures go on to be processed. Once the dentures are trimmed and polished, the final checks and adjustments are made to ensure your comfort. We will review how to clean and take care of your dentures and answer and questions you may have.

Any type of new denture can be challenging to get used to. Whether it is your first denture or you have been wearing dentures for years, we will do our best to ensure that you’re comfortable with your dentures and we will gladly see you back for adjustments should you require them. Dentures do not function as well as our natural teeth do. Be patient while you are learning how to adjust with your dentures.
